Lower Level
Education Center
UMMA's lower level galleries include teaching and study cases, object and paper study rooms, and works on display from Op Art artist Richard Anuszkiewicz and Tyree Guyton, founder of the Heidelberg Project in Detroit.
Study Cases
The Study Cases display of works on paper and small sculptures for class instruction. They are accessible daily, even when the galleries are closed. University and college instructors may request to have selections from UMMA's collection put on display in the Study Cases for instructional purposes. Submit your request for a study case, or a study room.
Teaching Cases
Works of Asian ceramics are on open storage display in the Teaching Cases, a popular stop on docent tours and programs. The Teaching Cases are located to the far left of the lower level study rooms.
