As part of the annual Ann Arbor District Library Summer Game, UMMA is offering players of the game two unlockable badges.
The Summer Game is an annual city-wide scavenger hunt organized by AADL that asks local residents and visitors to solve clues to the location of secret codes hidden all over town — one clue may take you to a specific tree in a specific park, while another will have you finding a code scrawled across the window of a downtown business. Solve the clues, find the codes, and you can unlock badges, digital victory stickers that show off your hunting prowess.
This year, several codes for the Summer Game are hidden around UMMA’s galleries allowing players to unlock two UMMA-specific badges.

Grace VanderVliet, UMMA’s Curator for Museum Teaching and Learning, is excited to work with the AADL on bringing the Summer Game to life. “We value this partnership because it connects UMMA with community members who may not otherwise visit an art museum,” she said. “It provides a fun, light way to explore a cultural space. The library does a fantastic job of bringing people together to learn and access resources, and we want to support and echo that service.”
Visit the AADL website to sign up for the Summer Game and learn about all of the badges you can earn all across Ann Arbor, including at UMMA.
